Regulatory Medicine and the Spectrum of Care explores how veterinary regulatory frameworks intersect with the diverse ways care is delivered in real-world practice. As veterinary medicine evolves, practitioners are increasingly navigating varying client resources, patient needs, and ethical considerations while remaining compliant with professional regulations. This seminar will examine the concept of the spectrum of care and how it fits within regulatory expectations, focusing on maintaining patient welfare, professional accountability, and access to care. Participants will gain insight into how regulatory medicine supports responsible decision-making while allowing veterinarians to provide flexible, patient-centered care in a variety of clinical situations.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Dr. Venit is the Chief Veterinary Officer of the American Association of Veterinary State Boards where she leads subject matter experts in creating regulatory model documents and other considerations for veterinary state boards in the United States and Canada. She performs outreach to veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and students.
