Board Adopts Revised District Map

At its Fall Board Meeting, the MVMA Board of Directors adopted a new district map for member districts. This effort is the culmination of a governance goal within the current strategic plan, to better align governance with the needs of MVMA. One of the factors was examining the distribution of members compared to district directors on the Board.

A task force was convened, chaired by MVMA past-president Dr. Dana Tatman-Lilly. The group used membership data from the MVMA member database to determine distribution of members by county
and redrew districts to provide a more equitable representation for members per district director across the state.

A member’s district is determined by their address of record in MVMA’s member database. Notices are going out to members about their new district and new director (if applicable). However, you can always log into your Member Compass and view your profile to see what district you were in and will be in effective January 1st. Here is how Board seats will shift.

Drs. Deland and Kinser have opted to not serve a 2nd term. Dr. Render is completing her 2nd term and is not eligible to continue. To read about the entire transition process, you may read the adopted Board policy on the policy page.

The Board appreciated that task force worked hard to develop a fair and equitable map and transition plan and approved both unanimously.
