MVMA's 2026 equine dental lab was a great success!

MVMA hosted their annual equine wet lab this past weekend on February 21, focused on dentistry. This full day of continuing education included a morning of lectures followed by a full afternoon of hands-on procedures featuring both cadavers and live horses.

Colleen M. Turner, DVM DAVDC EQ educated attendees on how to perform a bit and bridle assessment, and using different techniques and guidelines for sedation, local anesthesia, and nerve blocks. Attendees were also able to practice imaging and practical exam techniques to further their practice. Through a partnership with Horses Haven, located in Howell, MI, attendees had the chance to work with and help treat the rescue animals onsite.
